the basics
loops is a brand new slice of life community set in chiago, illinois! like many writers, we’re tired of the struggle to find a long-term home. we plan to make loops a genuinely fun, collaborative, and judgment-free environment! and we mean judgment-free: all kinds of characters and personality types are welcome and encouraged, as is ic drama. we're not here to micromanage anyone but we also have a zero tolerance policy towards blurriness or harassment of any kind.

our focus will be on character development, organic interaction and activities that are always keeping the friends page exciting and moving. we ask that you stick to major lines before joining (i.e. family, a best friend, relationships, or roommates.) we also encourage bringing in brand new characters so that everyone has the opportunity to turn over a new leaf together!

please keep in mind that we are also asking you to suspend your disbelief as this is a covid-free environment! as the community grows, we are looking forward to creating member directories for businesses, npcs and landmarks but for now, you can refer to the resources below.

applying
setting up: usernames are in character with no numbers, underscores, or extra characters. there should be two backdated contact posts in your journal, one ic and one ooc, and at least one icon of your pb. we do not allow challenges or overrides. we don't require a full biography but do expect to see some basics about your character!

examples: link us to your examples in the dropbox! we prefer to see one narrative and one scene at minimum but will accept anything you feel showcases your best writing.

rejection: if your application is deleted, it means you were rejected. the mods reserve the right to reject anyone we do not feel would be a good fit for the community, and we will not respond to questions about rejections in the dropbox.

activity
intros: once added, you'll have 72 hours to post an intro and run the friends button. please be sure to reply to the comments, otherwise we'll be forced to assume you're doa and remove you for inactivity. intros will count towards your monthly activity (see below).

monthly activity: every writer is different and that's okay! we don't want anyone to feel boxed into a monthly chore so here's our spin: you must complete a total of 2 updates (1 writing based and 1 activity based). we ask you to use your best judgment when updating but we've listed some examples below, and we're always here to help!
